so far we have learnt several media terms and information such as;
4 basic camera moverments; panning[left to right, from a fixed point], tilting[up and down, from a fixed point], tracking[left to right, not fixed], jibing[up and down, not fixed]
shot sizes; Close up, extreme close up, medium close up, long shot, medium long shot, medium shot and 3/4 shot. aswell as an establishing shot, which is not included in the shot sizes.
framing; people, objects, where they are placed in the frame.
arrows; to show camera movements [outside the box] and character movement [inside the box]
the 180 deg. rule; the problems that occur if you do not take into account the camera angles, switching from one point to another, e.g. if you film someone walking in a direction, the switch so you are filming the other sde of them, it would look like they are walking in a different direction.
the rule of 3rds; if a character is moving in a shot, the character is allways a third of the frame from the edge of the frame, so there is plenty of space to for character movement, so that they dont go out of shot.
shot-reverse-shot; is used to show things such as talking and reactions, related to match on action, the camera is positioned to film character action e.g. dialogue, then the camera angle is switched to show, for example, another characters reaction, then the angle is switched back to its original position.
match-on-action; to show action, dialogue and reactions of characters, so the camera allways stays with the action, unless planned otherwise for a specific reason.
over the shoulder; the camera is positioned so that you can see over the shoulder of a person, to film the actions of another, sometimes you will be able to see some of the persons shoulder or face.
diegetic/non-diegetic sound; diegetic sound is sound of which the character can hear/see the source, where as non-diegetic the character cannot.
